Giovanni Espititu

Actress and comedian Giovanni Espititu uses the cancellation of one of hip-hops most novel performance acts to address the rising cases of COVID-19 but in a oh some humorous way.

If you weren’t aware or just simply didn’t even realize Vanilla Ice was still being booked to perform, well he is. A restaurant recently booked him to perform at their outside seating restaurant I assume to attract more attention oddly enough. To Ice fans dismay he cancelled the performance in order to comply with stay at home orders. However, one mans concert cancellation is another woman’s opportunity to create a hilarious and clever parody song encouraging people to stay home.

On Espititu's Instagram, giospirit2, she created a minute long video urging folks to stay at the home and wear a mask over the original Ice, Ice, Baby beat. Once you hear the beat you may begin to roll your eyes at other parody song but the lyrics and the context for this give it a refreshing feeling to hear. And the lyrics are just down right hilarious. “Stay home, stay home, don’t roll the dice, dice baby..Could save your life, life baby STAY HOME.”

Espititu’s awareness of the comedic humor in Vanilla Ice’s show being cancelled and use of clever word play makes this worth the watch, like, comment and share on her Instagram.
